Joel Byrom has ended his loan spell with the Cobblers and signed a permanent contract at Sixfields until the end of the season.
The midfielder has agreed a settlement with Preston North End, from whom he joined on loan in August, to terminate his previous deal at Deepdale.
Byrom has made 23 appearances for Northampton Town so far this season, scoring a single goal - in the 3-2 defeat at Cheltenham Town on October 18.
He becomes the second player this week to turn his loan into a permanent deal, following fellow midfielder Jason Taylor, who underwent such a process on Wednesday.
It means the Cobblers now have only three loan players on the books - Ricky Holmes, who is signed up for a month, and Kaid Mohamed and Brendan Moloney, whose deals are until the end of the current campaign.
