Northampton Town have parted company with former Coventry City player Liam Davis.
Davis made 74 starts and 17 appearances from the bench, scoring nine times in his three year stay at Sixfields.
Manager Gary Johnson said: “Liam will not be offered a new deal, we agreed we would get things concluded by Friday of this week and we can now confirm Liam will be moving on.
“He has given three years service to the club and we wish him well for the future but it is another opportunity for us to bring a fresher look to the squad, and it is clear that we do need to bring new players in.
“We hope to be able to announce some news on other players early next week.
“I gave Chris Dunn and Guillem Bauza until Friday to let me know their thoughts and plans and to convince me they wanted to be part of our plans for next season.
“That was the deadline I set them to come back to me, but it will be early next week before we can make any public announcement on either of those two.
“We are also talking to other players and again hope to be in a position to make at least one announcement next week.
“It has been a busy week, it is that time of year when a lot of talking is going on and a lot of meetings are taking place.
“We are keen to get things done as quickly as we can, and hopefully by next week we will be in a position to make some announcements.”
