Cobblers spent £66,734, the sixth-highest in League Two, on agent fees in the period between February 1, 2019, and January 31, 2020, according to figures released by the FA this week.

The club made a whole host of new signings last summer as manager Keith Curle revamped his squad following a disappointing mid-table finish the previous season.

Nicky Adams, Alan McCormack and Charlie Goode were the headline signings while the likes of Vadaine Oliver and Chris Lines also joined, in addition to Scott Wharton on loan from Blackburn and then three free transfers following the closing of the transfer window.

Town's outgoings are the sixth most in the division. Bradford City, who finished narrowly outside the play-offs, spent the most (£114,010), just ahead of Salford City (£111,619) and Scunthorpe United (£107,345).

Promoted Plymouth Argyle (£81,537) were fourth-biggest spenders while champions Swindon Town forked out £28,818 and second-placed Crewe Alexandra just £3,000. Cobblers' League Two play-off final opponents Exeter City spent £60,840.

Macclesfield Town (£825) and Crawley Town (£1,000) paid out the least in agent fees.
