The Cobblers have signed Sheffield United striker Diego De Girolamo on loan until the end of the season.
The transfer is a somewhat controversial one as De Girolamo has been recalled from his spell at York City by the Blades to facilitate a move to Sixfields.
De Girolamo, who has represented Italy at under-20 level, will go straight into the Town squad for the trip to Bury on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
The 19-year-old scored four times in eight appearances during a loan at York earlier in the season and notched for Sheffield United in their 1-1 draw at Preston North End in January.
De Girolamo has been tenuously linked with transfers to Arsenal and Juventus in the national press.
