Cobblers boss Page happy to leave it late over decision on fitness of McCourt

Cobblers boss Rob Page says he will leave it until the last minute before deciding on whether to start key midfielder Jak McCourt at Swindon Town on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm).

The former Barnsley man was in the wars a little during Saturday's 4-0 Sky Bet League One win over Southend United at Sixfields, and at one point received treatment for a bang to the head.

The Liverpudlian, who has been an instrumental player in Town's good form so far this season, is keen to play, but Page says the player will be assessed ahead of the clash at the Robins.

"Jak is struggling a little bit," admitted Page. "He has had a bump to the head, so we will leave it as late as possible to make a call on him.

"We will wait and see, but he had a hand in two of the goals on Saturday and I thought he was outstanding.

"Whenever there was trouble, he was right in the thick of it, breaking play up.

"He is a fiery little character, and we will have to see how he is, but hopefully he will be fit to start at Swindon."

The Cobblers are otherwise in good shape, with no fresh injury concerns from the weekend, and the only absentee remains left-back Raheem Hanley.
