Thousands of supporters turned up at Sixfields for the open day, which saw the club launch their new claret and white Nike home kit, and Page was impressed.

There was an open training session with Page putting the first team squad through their paces, and supporters were also invited to take part in a penalty shoot out on the pitch against Marc Richards and the first team squad.

To wrap things up on the pitch, 100s of Gullivers Junior Cobblers members were allowed on to share the paying surface with their heroes in a special match against the first team.

Away from the pitch, supporters could also have their picture taken with the Sky Bet League Two trophy, and the players also lined up to meet the fans, signing autographs and posing for pictures.

“It was a fantastic day, I thought it was superb,” said Page.

“I used to do it as a player at Watford under Graham Taylor, and he was a massive family man himself and that club was very familiy orientated.

“It was a great day, it was very productive and it was brilliant to see the supporters come in, and for us as players and management to give something back to them.

“It was bedlam at the end with 100s of kids playing against 16 lads!

“So it was great to give something back to the fans, and that is what I have picked up with this football club that it is a fantastic place.

“There is great support here and long may that continue.”
