Steady rain prevented any play before lunch but conditions improved for a 19-over match to get underway at 4pm.

The Foxes had won the toss and elected to put the Steelbacks into bat, but just 16 balls were possible before a very heavy shower crashed over the ground.

The square got a soaking and put paid to any more play, with Northants finishing on 12 without loss.

David Ripley’s men, who take a point from the match, will now have to refocus as they prepare for a trip to Yorkshire Vikings in the same competition on Tuesday.
