The hosts were dismissed for just 142 in less than 36 second innings overs, which came after they had been set a massive 453 to win.

Worcestershire, who were all out for 277 in their first innings, declared on 324 for eight on day three, leaving Northants with a huge task.

And having been skittled out for just 148 in their first innings, things were even worse for the home side second time round.

Steven Crook (33) and Seekkuge Prasanna (31) provided some resistance, but it was all in vain as the County slipped to a big defeat.

They remain eighth in the division two table, with no wins from 10 matches so far this season.
