Northampton bowler Jamie Walker has been selected to play for England in their Test Match against Scotland later this month.

Walker enjoyed an excellent outdoor season and will be looking to carry that on during the winter campaign.

He makes up part of a six-man England team to take on Scotland at Stanley IBC in County Durham on October 24 and 25.

The format of The Co-operative Funeralcare Test Matches will be sets play with two triples and three pairs matches on the first day followed by six singles on the Sunday.

One point will be awarded to the winner of each match and the team with the most points will be the winners.

Northants start with impressive success

Northants Under-25s got their indoor season off to a winning start when a mixed six-rink team claimed a 157-90 friendly success at Desborough IBC.

Two county rinks won by substantial margins to help secure the success as those skipped by Will Walker and Adam Pitfield won by 36 and 25 shots respectively.

The under-25s’ next outing is at Kingsthorpe on Saturday.
