THE English Indoor Bowling Association stages its men’s senior international trial at Northampton & District IBC on Sunday, December 6 (1pm) and three Northants bowlers will be taking part.
Neil McKee of Kingsthorpe, a regular indoor Senior International, will be playing at No. 2 in a rink skipped by regular International Jamie Chestney, of Devon, and he will have for company Steve Mitchinson, Essex, at Lead, and Steve Farish, Cumbria at No. 3, both also being current Internationals. Kingsthorpe pair Connor Cinato and Andrew Manton have been selected as travelling reserves.
Notts claim the spoils in big win at Newark
NORTHANTS Ladies endured a tough day as they lost heavily to Nottinghamshire in the Midland Counties Championship at Newark IBC. The County won only one rink as the home county won by 37 shots. The one winning rink, skipped by Joan Watts, claimed an excellent 17-shot win.

Ladies prevail in the battles of the sexes
NORTHANTS Ladies are celebrating after they secured a 131-111 win over Northants Men in their friendly match at Wellingborough BC.
Both teams claimed three rinks apiece, but the ladies claimed more shots, and the key rink was the highest winning one led by Tina Broderick, who, on home soil, gave her opposition a bit of a ‘tanking’ by 25 shots. The highest winning rink for the men was the one skipped by Alan Watts which took a 17 shots win.
