This dashcam footage shows the moment an “out of control” drone almost crashes into an oncoming car after falling from the sky.

Peter Kearsley, 21, was driving home from work when he came within seconds of being involved in a crash with a sky-diving drone.

Mr Kearsley had to act fast to slam on the brakes to avoid a head-on collision with the drone – which came plummeting out of the sky as he made his way home in Portishead, Somerset.

His dashcam footage shows the drone falling from the sky – directly into his driving path – in busy rush hour traffic.

To avoid the drone crash-landing straight into his car, Peter was forced to perform an emergency stop – almost causing the car behind to smash into him.

After stopping, Mr Kearsley gets out of his car and throws the drone into a roadside bush, well out of the way of other drivers.

“It just dropped completely. I had to slam my brakes on or else it would have hit me head on,” he said.

“I had just come off a roundabout and didn’t even see it hovering above me.

“It was quite frightening because it took me by surprise. You don’t expect something to fall out of the sky like that.

“Why was someone flying a drone so close to a road like that? It’s dangerous and irresponsible.”

Mr Kearsley said he couldn’t see who may have been responsible for causing the drone to crash in to the road.

He has reported the incident to the police and adds that all drone pilots should find a “safe open place” when flying the gadgets.

Peter said: “I was astounded because it all happened so quickly. It could have caused damage to my car.

“I just threw it in a bush out of the way because I didn’t know what to do with it.

“No one should be flying a drone near the road or near vehicles at all.

“They are a distraction. I’m just relieved that no one crashed in to me when I stopped.”
