A seriously ill schoolgirl from Northampton is set to appear on stage alongside international superstar, and X Factor judge, Nicole Scherzinger.
Seven-year-old Gracie, from Abington Vale in Northampton, will perform with the Rays of Sunshine Wish Choir at The Rays of Sunshine Concert at the SSE Wembly Arena.
The choir is a group of 15 brave and inspirational seriously ill children who have all had their wishes granted by the charity.
Gracie is currently living retinoblastoma – a rare cancer of the eye. Rays of Sunshine granted her greatest wish to go to Disneyland Paris with her family.
Also performing on the evening will be Shawn Mendes, DNCE, Fleur East, X Factor reigning winner Louisa Johnson, Conor Maynard, rock pop band Lawson and James TW. The evening will be hosted by Capital Radio Breakfast DJ’s George Shelley and Lilah Parsons.
Nicole Scherzinger said: “I am super excited to perform at the Rays of Sunshine Concert at The SSE Arena, Wembley in October. I can’t wait to take to the stage and help Rays of Sunshine brighten the lives of many more brave and deserving children
“This concert is such a unique event, with over a thousand seriously ill children in the audience, that it’s an absolute honour to be a part of it. It’s going to be a fantastic show.”
The concert is sponsored by SSE as part of a new two-year partnership between SSE and Rays of Sunshine that will see the charity event take place at The SSE Arena Wembley in 2016 and 2017. SSE’s support of the event will enable the charity to offer 2,000 complimentary tickets to seriously ill children, who have previously had wishes granted.
