Children at Collingtree Primary School in Northampton made World Book Day stretch over an entire week.

Debra Nightingale, Year 4 teacher, said the school was visited by local Janet Roberts when the new library was officially opened.

“The children enjoyed the drama with the author and class teachers and then did various activities for example in year 4 we debated whether or not you should keep a lion cub, wrote a set of instructions for keeping a cub and wrote biographies about famous people such as Roahl Dahl and Michael Morpurgo as well as painting a large lion for classroom display,” she said.

“On World Book day the children loved dressing up and joining in the fun.”
