Young girl assaulted near Northampton primary school

A young girl was the victim of an assault near to a primary school in Northampton.

The girl was walking along Crestline Court, near Woodvale Primary Academy, in the direction of Goldings shops, between 8.25am and 8.40am, on Monday morning when she was approached by a man.

The man had walked from the direction of Lings Wood and he tried to restrain the girl but she ran off. The man appeared to follow her again but stopped when a woman came into view, walking in the opposite direction.

The man is described as white, 5ft 11ins and aged 20 to 30, with a muscular build, brown eyes and an English accent. He was wearing a black hooded top and trousers. His face was partially covered by a scarf or similar.

Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with any information, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police would especially like to hear from the woman who was also walking through Crestline Court, in the opposite direction.
