A group of York City football fans are planning to cycle to Northampton in February as part of a tribute to a Cobblers fan who died after a match between the two clubs in January.

A total of 10 Minstermen fans have already signed up to take part in a charity bike ride from York to Northampton to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of David Henderson who suffered a fatal heart attack outside Sixfields in January.

The bike ride will take place before the Cobblers match against York at Sixfields on Saturday, February 21.

A minute’s silence was held in memory of Mr Henderson, who was the general manager of the Stoke Bruerne Canal Museum, at the Cobblers’ final home game against Oxford last season and his son, Alex, was chosen as the mascot for the game.
