Emergency services were called to a field adjacent to the B573 near Earls Barton at about 7.30am.

Police said a hot air balloon had crashed and one of the passengers on board - a woman - suffered burn injuries. She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, which specialises in burns injuries.

Witnesses said the balloon appeared to strike power cables and was in flames at one point.

The investigation has now been handed over to the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.
