Woman knocked to the floor and had her handbag stolen during a robbery as she walked along a Northampton street

A gang of people approached a woman walking along a street in Semilong before one of them knocked her to the floor and stole her bag.

The woman was walking along Marriott Street sometime between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday last week (December 11), when she was approached by two men and a woman.

One of the men ran past her and grabbed her handbag, knocking her to the floor. All three people then walked off in the direction of Barrack Road.

The offender was aged in his mid-20s, around 5ft10in and of think build. He had short, dark coloured hair and wore dark clothing.

The second man was also white, in his mid-30s, about 5ft5in and of medium build. He had short brown hair and was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a white top underneath.

The woman was aged in her 30s, of thin build and with shoulder length black hair and possibly wearing a dark coat over a dress.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding.
