A woman was assaulted in her home in Northamptonshire by an intruder.

The incident happened just before midnight on Saturday at the woman’s house in Stephenson Way, Corby.

The 49-year-old victim was knocked on the back of the head by an intruder. She shouted at him and he ran off out of the front door.

Nothing appears to have been stolen, but the victim suffered a cut to the head which needed medical treatment.

The offender is described as white, about 5ft 2in with a slim build, pale skin and mousey-blonde to light-brown straight hair. He was 12 to 16-years-old and was wearing a navy or dark-blue polo-shirt with a motif on the left sleeve and dark tracksuit bottoms.
