Woman, 61, dies after fatal crash in Northampton after her car 'crossed the carriageway several times'

The collision happened at 7.50am on the eastbound carriageway of the A45 at the Barnes Meadow flyover yesterday (December 11).

For reasons yet unknown, the woman’s car crossed the carriageway a number of times, hitting the safety barriers and a street lamp before coming to a rest on the grass verge.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry for treatment where she sadly died earlier today (December 12).

Officers investigating the collision would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it or who may have any information about what happened.
