Winds of up to 46 mph will continue to hit Northamptonshire throughout the day.

High winds and rain battered Northamptonshire yesterday and during the night with gusts reaching up to 50 mph across the county.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning for Northamptonshire from 8.45am this morning until 7pm this evening.

The yellow warning of wind means that members of the public should be aware of the weather conditions.

There will be sunny spells this morning, with showers later and winds of up to 46 mph up until 7pm.

During the evening and into tomorrow morning winds will ease to around 20mph.

A car hit a fallen tree in Rothersthorpe Road in Kislingbury this morning but the driver was not injured.
