People who live in isolated rural areas of Northamptonshire have been advised to make sure their properties are properly secured following a number of break-ins.

A property on the outskirts of Guilsborough was broken into sometime between 10am on Monday, September 21, and 9.15am the following day.

The front door of the property was kicked-in by the burglars, but it is not yet known what was taken.

Then on Friday September 25, sometime between 7.30am and 12.45pm, a similarly remote property in Fawsley was broken into.

The burglars got in through the front door and stole jewellery and a Canon camera. Some of the items of jewellery are pictured.

Officers investigating the two cases do not yet know if they are linked.

Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use the anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
