Rita Arundel, headteacher of East Hunsbury Primary School, sent a letter to parents after a man described as “weedy, aged 50” was seen photographing young children through the fence along Rowtree Road during the lunch hour.

The man is believed to be “very small”, approximately five feet and three inches, has very short grey hair and was wearing dark rimmed glasses, black tracksuit bottoms and a black jacket with red piping.

In the letter, Ms Arundel said: “If your child walks home alone please ask them to be extra wary of any approach. Should any parent who lives locally see anyone acting suspiciously or taking photographs with a camera near the school premises, please contact the school or alert police.”
