The freehold of a nightclub in a 19th Century centre former school house in Northampton is set to go under the hammer next week as part of a move to see somebody bring the building back into use.
The former Atmosphere nightclub in Horseshoe Street, opened in 2011 and was forced to close two years ago.
But auctioneers Savills are to sell the freehold to the site at an auction in Nottingham next week, at which the premises is listed with a guide price of £290,000.
The lot will be one of 26 properties the auction house is putting under the hammer next month.
Head of office at Savills Nottingham, Victor Ktori, said: “We are continuing to see an influx of licensed leisure lots.
“These lots offer both significant investment and development opportunities for those looking to secure a quick and efficient purchase via the auction process.”
The Grade II listed building, which dates back to 1839, features an open-plan bar and dance floor, a reception area, two separate “VIP rooms” and a first floor mezzanine.
Savills says the auction is an opportunity to acquire the vacant freehold of a former nightclub situated “in the heart of the city centre in a location known for its nightlife.”
Currently, the licence in place at the club permits alcohol sales up until 4am on a Friday and Saturday.
The auction is set to take place on Thursday, September 1, at the Centenary Suite of Nottingham Racecourse at 2.30pm.
