Symphony House Nursing Home in Northampton is planning a fundraising day in aid of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

The home in Queen’s Park Parade is holding a garden party and virtual balloon release on Sunday, August 30, to mark the 10th anniversary of the home and of the opening of the hospice’s extension.

During this time the staff at the home have worked closely in conjunction with Cynthia Spencer Hospice to provide ongoing support and palliative care for their patients.

As it is a special occasion the home has approached local businesses and companies who have provided services for the residents and the home to sponsor and donate prizes for the balloon release and raffle. All proceeds would be used to help Cynthia Spencer and the home to provide very poorly patients with some little extras to make their lives more comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.

A virtual balloon release works by balloons being set free on the internet to fly around their own webpage and virtual island. Balloons are available for a £5 donation and participants can choose the colour of their balloon and attach a message on the balloon tag.

Prizes include £100, a Kindle Fire, a luxury picnic basket and a digital camera.
