A lorry has caused extensive damage to a house after it left the A45 and crashed into the property.

Emergency services were called out to Stratford Drive, Wootton, after the lorry crashed into the house at about 1.45pm today.

A spokesman for the fire service said the driver of the lorry was not trapped by was taken to hospital.

Kevin Huck, who rents the property, said it was lucky that nobody was in the property when it happened.

A lorry crashed into a house in Wootton after it left the A45

Mr Huck, who lives in the property with his partner Sue, said: “It was really lucky it did not happen at 3am as it has crashed into our bedroom.

“I was also going to work from home today but I decided not to.”

Mr Huck said he had been told that the driver had a “medical episode” before the crash.
