VIDEO: Lick Frozen Yoghurt bar opens full time at Royal and Derngate Theatre

The new Lick Frozen Yogurt parlour, which opened at Royal & Derngate last December, is extending its opening hours from today (Monday).

Lick is the country’s top frozen yogurt brand, which is fat-free, probiotic and 100% natural. Started by school friends Ky Wright and Owain Williams as pocket-money making scheme in the school holidays, Lick Frozen Yogurt has enjoyed unprecedented success.

Originally selling from the back of a trike in Tenby, the pair went on to run a phenomenally popular shop in Brighton – the first ever frozen yogurt store in the UK – and moved on from there to supplying the product in tubs to leading chains such as Ocado, LEON, Sainsbury’s, and many top delis.

Lick has been confirmed as the UK’s favourite frozen yogurt, independently verified by consumer testing, and Masterchef’s Greg Wallace and John Torode gave it their seal of approval, saying: “Believe it or not, Lick is the only frozen yogurt in the world which made from 100% yogurt. Thumbs up.”

Following on from the original Brighton shop, Royal & Derngate is home to the only Lick Frozen Yogurt bar in the country. The theatre is selling the delicious and healthy soft-serve frozen yogurt in a selection of sizes from regular to sharing.

A wide range of toppings are available, such as raspberry, mango, honeycomb, dark Belgian chocolate and granola.

Prices start from £1.75 for a regular serving, with toppings from 60p each.

Situated in Royal & Derngate’s foyer, alongside the theatre shop, the colourful and stylish Lick Frozen Yogurt parlour has been designed by the internationally renowned Freshwest Design, who also designed the Lick shop in Brighton, which was shortlisted for the UK Bar & Restaurant Design Awards.

So far the yogurt bar has only been open for Derngate performances, but due to popular demand, it will be open from 11am on Mondays to Saturdays until the end of the last interval of Derngate performances. On days with no performances in Derngate auditorium it will close at 5pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays it will open an hour and a half before the first Derngate performance. For more information visit
