Vandals damaged a church roof in Northamptonshire when they climbed onto the building in an attempt to steal lead.

St Helen’s Church in Harborough Road, Great Oxendon, was targeted sometime between 3pm on Wednesday, December 17 and 2pm on Christmas Eve.

It is believed thieves climbed onto the building with the aim of stealing lead. But as the church has no lead on its roof, they simply damaged the building.

Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
