The University of Northampton will be showcasing its variety of postgraduate courses at a free recruitment fair this afternoon.

The event, which will be held at Northampton Saints’ Franklin’s Gardens stadium between 4pm and 7pm, will allow visitors to find out more about the

postgraduate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses offered by each of the University’s six schools.

Representatives will also be on hand to talk to prospective postgraduates about fees, funding and scholarships – and there will also be the opportunity for visitors to take part in an MBA interactive workshop between 5pm and 6.30pm.

Cal Cooper is currently studying a PhD in Psychology and Parapsychology at the University, where he also lectures in the same subject.

He is urging people to attend the fair and find out more about the postgraduate opportunities the University offers.

He said: “My advice to potential students is to be passionate and dedicated to what you want to do. If you wish to do a PhD in the same topic as your undergraduate degree, first go and do a Master’s in something completely different and then come back. It’s good to add more strings to your bow.

“My career has sent me around the world and I have had the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of people. I have found the University of

Northampton to be a home from home with a world of knowledge and my experience studying there has surpassed my expectations. I am also honoured to be teaching what I enjoy.”

The event will showcase courses from the University’s schools of Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Education and Health, the School of the Arts and Northampton Business School.
