Two arrested after crashed car was abandoned on busy Northampton road

A group of men abandoned a crashed car on a busy Northampton road shortly after it had ploughed into a stationary vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the crash in Wellingborough Road, Northampton, yesterday between 6am and 6.20am.

A grey Fiat Punto hit a parked car near Allen Road – close to the Oliver Adams bakery.

But witnesses say three men then got out of the Fiat and ran off down Allen Road, abandoning it in the road.

One of the men was black with a skinny build, about 5ft 7 inches tall with short, black, curly hair. He wore a dark jacket with a grey lanyard, blue jeans with a brown belt and black trainers.

The other two were of mixed race and were of large build. One was about 5ft 10 inches in height. He was bald and wore blue jeans and a top.

The other man was about 6ft and in his early twenties.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently being held in custody.
