Truck driver accused of causing death of motorbike rider in Northampton through careless driving

A tipper truck driver has appeared in court on a charge of causing the death of a motorcyclist in Northampton through careless or inconsiderate driving.

Michael Rennison was carrying his load of soil from Crick along Danes Camp Way at about 2pm on March 18 when the accident happened.

The motorcyclist, Kenneth Owens, 45, from Duston, received fatal injuries as a result and died a hospital in Coventry two days later.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction and sent the case to Northampton Crown Court.

Rennison, who is charged with causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving, was given unconditional bail.
