Police vehicle involved in two-car crash that closed Northampton road on Friday night, Force confirms

Northamptonshire Police has started an investigation this evening, Friday, after confirming a police vehicle was involved in the accident that shut a main road in Northampton town centre.

The accident happened earlier this evening and shut the St James Road junction with St James Mill Road.

A statement released by police at 9.50pm said: "*UPDATE*Road traffic collision on A4500 at St James, #Northampton. We can confirm a police vehicle was involved in the two-vehicle collision earlier this evening. There were no serious injuries & the road has now reopened. An investigation is underway."
