Northamptonshire road reopened after a lorry collided with a railway bridge this morning

Emergency services have reopened a main road in the county after it was shut for several hours today.

The A428 was closed from around 11am until 4pm between Harlestone and East Haddon today (Monday May 9) after a lorry collided with a low railway bridge.

The road was closed to allow police and emergency services to free the stricken vehicle.

The lorry collided with the bridge close to Althorp on the A428 between the junctions for East Haddon and Great Brington at around 11am.
