Lorry fire on slip road causing long delays on A45 in Northampton

A lorry fire is causing long delays on a main Northampton road this afternoon (September 20).

The A45 westbound slip road at Mereway is closed due to the lorry fire.

However AA traffic is reporting queues past Brackmills and back to Riverside.

Northamptonshire Police are on the scene and are awaiting recovery after they were called at 2.10pm.

A spokeswoman is hopeful that the lorry will be moved shortly so the road can reopen.
