Storm Ciara: Fallen tree blocks two lanes on A45 near Northampton

Storm Ciara is expected to cause havoc on the roads today.

Trees are expected to cause disruptions across the county today.

A tree has fallen on the A45 Westbound at Riverside near Northampton.

Two lanes on the major road are currently blocked. Northamptonshire Police and Highways England say they are working to move the fallen trees.

It is expected to be the first of many disruptions caused by Storm Ciara today (February 9). Winds of up to 60mph have already been reported across the county.

If there are fallen trees or other objects obstructing county roads, please call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or, if it’s an emergency, on 999. If partially blocked roads are passable, do so with care and please take care if you’re driving today.
