Top history marks for Abbeyfield pupil as school celebrates '˜bumper' GCSE year
The Mereway school has described this year’s results as a “bumper year,” adding that most managed to get a sixth form place.
Among the top achievers Sanjeet Kaur, who got 11 A*s, aced her history exam with a 100 per cent mark.

Hide AdPrincipal Claire Morrell said: “We are delighted with the results for all of our students who took GCSEs this year.
“They have maintained the very high standards that were achieved last year with excellent results in English and mathematics.
“Following the impressive results for our A Level students last week, we feel that 2016 is a bumper year for Abbeyfield Students.”
Nationally the amount of pupils receiving a C or above has fallen by 2.1 per cent.

Hide AdThe falls are in part due to new government policies that meant 17-year-olds who got a D or lower in English or maths last year had to resit the exams, meaning more students overall were sitting the tests.
Other top marks at Abbeyfield included Hannah Dolan, an A* three As, four Bs and a C and Joanna Wickam who got three A*s and six As.
