Twenty-four kind hearted fundraisers are taking part in their latest endurance event to raise money for The Old Northamptonians RFC Benevolent Fund which helps young rugby players.

The walkers ranging in age from 18-years-old to mid fifties will be tackling the gruelling three peaks challenge of walking up the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, in a day as well as driving the over 1000 miles round trip.

Andy Thompson chairman of The Old Northamptonians RFC Benevolent Fund who will be driving the walkers said: “We’re hoping to raise £5,000 for the fund which helps children and young people in the community to play rugby, buy equipment or to get treatment for players.”

Trekkers start at dawn on Friday June 19 and have 24 hours to complete the trip.
