Organisers of Sywell Airshow have announced that tickets have now sold out for the event next month.

Thousands of tickets have now been sold ahead of Sywell Airshow on August 17.

A spokesman said: “Due to unprecedented demand the Sywell Airshow, to be held on the 17th August 2014 has now sold out! This means that advance tickets only will permit entry and there will be no on the gate sales.

“The airshow team, entirely made up of volunteers would like to thank all those who bought tickets in support of the show which raises funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and other local charities.”

Organisers said they were ‘amazed’ by the popularity of the show and ‘delighted’ it has sold out.

A spokesman continued: Traffic on the day will be extremely heavy (if you can - please car share) and we implore people not to come unless they have a ticket already as there will not be any on the gate tickets for sale.

“With such a popular event we must remind people that the police will be patrolling the perimeter of the airfield and any illegal parking may well prove to be expensive for you. Listen out for regular traffic updates thanks to our friends at BBC Radio Northampton.”

Headlining the show will be two Lancaster bombers and the RAF Red Arrows - the show is on target to beat the £50,000 raised for charity in 2012.
