A thief left empty-handed after he attempted to break into a house and heating oil storage tank in a Northamptonshire village.
The attempted theft happened in Church Road, Upper Boddington, sometime between 8pm on Monday night and 8am on Tuesday.
Police believe the thief to force the lid of the tank, which was kept in the back garden of a house, but failed to get inside it.
They then tried to gain entry into the house through a ground floor bedroom window. They failed to get in as it is believed they may have been disturbed. No property was stolen.
