A Northampton man has admitted stealing mobile phones and laptops after breaking into the Crockett & Jones shoe factory in the town.

Clive Goody, of Bouverie walk, Northampton, has pleaded guilty to a burglary at the factory on May 16.

Northampton Crown Court heard Goody stole three mobile phones, three laptops, a USB stick, a wallet containing credit cards, a phone charger and a PSP console.

Goody also pleaded guilty to escaping from custody and damaging the window of an unmarked police car on the same day as the burglary.

The case was adjourned until next month to allow for probation reports to be carried out before Goody is sentenced.
