Staff from a Tesco store in Northampton have delivered 277 Easter eggs to the children’s ward at Northampton General Hospital.
The eggs, which were donated by customers to the supermarket in East Hunsbury, were delivered on Easter Sunday to every child on the Disney and Paddington wards.
Tesco driver Gary Jobson, whose son has been in the children’s ward many times over the years though illness, was joined by personnel manager Amanda Joshua, Craig Butterworth, the lead dotcom manager, Debbie Sheppard the stores community champion and Jamie Mallard, a security colleague who has been promoting the Easter egg collection in the store.
Mr Butterworth said: “The staff and nurses where shocked when we arrived at the generosity of our customers and told the Tesco Team, it would go along way to making Easter better this year, not only for the children on the wards but their brothers and sisters and they also believe they have enough to go to accident and emergency too.
“Tesco in East Hunsbury would like to thank all its customers who donated and are already looking forward to their next project.”
