World famous operatic superstar Alfie Boe is the second headline act to be announced to perform at next summer’s Alive @ Delapre concerts n Northampton.
The popular British tenor singer perform in the open air on Sunday, July 19 at Delapre Park.
Alfie’s distinctive voice has helped him conquer the world’s most prestigious opera stages, led the cast of Les Miserables for nearly a year, and wowed the crowd at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.
Alfie, who performed at this year’s Royal Variety performance, has had three sell-out UK tours including Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall and has achieved platinum album sales in the UK and four top ten albums.
Cllr David Mackintosh, Leader of Northampton Borough Council said: “Alfie Boe is the perfect act for a warm summer Sunday evening in Northampton. Our Alive@Delapre concerts continue to attract the best British musicians and performers.
“Alfie has played in some amazing opera houses and theatres, and I am sure the picturesque setting of in the grounds of Delapre Abbey will be just as special as we welcome him to our town.”
Cllr Brandon Eldred, cabinet member for community engagement said: “Every year Alive@Delapre brings some of the biggest and best artists to Northampton. Announcing Alfie Boe as a headline act for July 2015 only adds to our town’s reputation as a venue for live music in the open air.”
Alive @ Delapre organisers have said that ticketholders will be allowed to bring food into the arena this year.
