Temporary traffic lights set to create tailbacks on busy Northampton route this week

Motorists can expect at least a week of delays on a busy Northampton route while repairs are made to a burst main.

Roadworks on Barrack Road are expected to last another week.

Temporary traffic lights have been placed on the A508 Barrack Road by the new Northampton Academy School.

The “emergency works,” are to repair a burst main on the road and a split part of the road, and are expected to cause lengthy delays on the busy stretch.

Power company Western Power Distribution are also carrying out connection works in the area while the road is dug up.

Both sets of works are set to be competed by Wednesday, August 3, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes if possible.
