Taxi driver victim of alleged assault in Northampton after having his phone stolen

A Northampton taxi driver allegedly had his mobile phone stolen by a customer before being punched in the face.

Northamptonshire Police have released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened between 1.30am and 2am on Wednesday, January 31 in Blackthorn Road.

The taxi driver picked up three men and dropped them off at their destination.

He later spoke to one of the men through the window of the car about his missing mobile phone, at which point he is believed to have been punched in the face and possibly hit with a weapon to the back of the head.

Officers are keen to locate the two men pictured or the third passenger, who may be able to assist the investigation and are urging them to make contact.
