Karen Cowper, 44, of Abbey Road, Wellingborough, suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car travelling on the A509 heading from Wellingborough to Wollaston on Monday, August 8.

Numerous tributes have been left on the Wellingborough Now and Then Facebook page to Karen, and a JustGiving page set up by her brother Desmond Cooper to help with the costs of the funeral has already raised £785.

A message from Mr Cooper on the JustGiving page says: “This page is for helping to fund the funeral of one of the kindest and most amazing people I know, my sister Karen Cowper, who sadly passed at around 2am on August 10 after many attempts to save her.

“I can’t express how hard it is for us at this time and any help we could get would be so greatly appreciated.

“I would like to thank the many people who have given us so much support on social media, I really want to give her a nice send-off as she deserves it so, so much, thank you everyone.”

Mr Cooper said they did not realise how expensive it would be for a simple cremation, and finding the money to pay for it has been a huge worry for him since losing his sister.

More than 60 people have made donations via the JustGiving page and this has resulted in £785 being raised already.

Mr Cooper has thanked everyone for the kindness and support shown to him and his family in recent days, and he has said he is trying to focus on all the happy times with Karen as it is ‘what my sister would have wanted.’

The family has started making a large vegetable garden in Karen’s memory as she had wanted one.
