A big well done to Northampton Fire and Rescue Service dog, Maisie, who took home the trophy after winning the final leg of BBC2 Sport Relief’s Top Dog competition on Friday.

Guided by her owner, Northampton fire station manager, Ian Walpole, and team captain, Olympic silver medalist, Gale Emms, five-year-old Maisie flew through her skill-based challenges, winning extra time for her team mates to complete the final Bark Off obstacle race.

Maisie and Ian completed the Bark Off, which saw her race over obstacles based on British landmarks - including London’s Barking tube station - in approximately a minute.

Between them, Team Gail completed the final race in three minutes and 17 seconds putting them mere seconds ahead of other finalists, Team Sally Gunnell.
