Students win Rotary Club of Towcester's Young Designer Competition

A level student Brina Johnson and GCSE student Cody Rickard at Sponne School in Towcseter were the proud winners of Rotary's local heat of the Young Designer Competition 2016.

Besides winning a cash prize, Brina and Cody will now also compete in Rotary 1070 District finals to be held at De Montfort University on June 18. They will be up against the local winners from 38 other schools in the 1070 Rotary District and there will be a first prize amongst the A level students and one for the GCSE students.

In addition, this year the De Montfort University will select one of the first-prize winners to be privileged to work with a mentor at the university with the objective of taking their product to market.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Towcester said: “We are very proud of the level of technical ability shown by all the students at Sponne School and wish both Brina and Cody much luck in the district finals.”
