Stall a day to be given over to non-profit groups at Northampton Market Square

Northampton Borough Council is helping to raise awareness of local projects by dedicating one stall a day on their busy market for communities and charities to use.

The stall will be free for charities and community organisations to use during trading times of 9am to 5pm during Tuesday to Friday and 9am to 4.30pm on Saturdays.

Each group can apply to occupy a stall for a one off event or as regularly as once a month, subject to terms and conditions.

A number of organisations are already taking advantage of this free space including students from the National Citizenship Service, Cats Protection and Animals in need, but Northampton Borough Council is keen to attract more interest in the scheme.

Councillor Jonathan Nunn, deputy leader of the council, said: “Northampton’s market is not just for trading. It is a community space with an ideal location for organisations to reach out to locals about their cause. We look forward to welcoming more initiatives and charities to work alongside local traders in the near future.”

Charities and community organisations wanting to make use of this community space, can request an application form at [email protected]
