A rehearsal room for musicians in Northampton has recently expanded to provide aspiring acts more space to hone their skills.

Stalkers Studio in Northampton opened in 2011 at the K2 Business Centre in King’s Heath.

Initially providing a rehearsal and recording space, Stalkers has now expanded to offer a second rehearsal room and a new tuition room with a third room also under construction.

Stalkers owner, Paul Brown, said: “We’ve had a great reaction to the new room, it’s been designed very well. It sounds very good and it looks great.

“A lot of the bands who have come down and tried it have already made repeat bookings and it’s getting quite busy already.”

The new rehearsal rooms are adjacent to the original Stalkers Studio in Heathfield Way. Mr Brown took on two units to create the new facilities. He said: “As well as the new rehearsal space, we also have a new tuition room which can be hired by teachers.

“We also plan to make a few changes to the original recording studio and work on pushing the record label side of things.”

Mr Brown started work on the new building at the beginning of this year and it has been open for a few weeks.

The final room which is being built at Stalkers will cater for larger music groups as well as organisations looking for somewhere to meet.

Commenting on the music scene in Northampton, Mr Brown said: “There’s some great musicians around Northampton at the moment and there is a very strong scene.

“There seems to be lots of pockets of groups in different areas and what I’d like to see is everyone getting together and supporting each other.”
