Fund-raisers at St Crispin Village in Northampton raised more than £200 with an ice bucket challenge.

The challenge involved manager Sara Reading and the activities facilitator, Elaine Henley.

They had both agreed to take part to help with raising funds for automatic irrigation here in the gardens at St Crispin Village and Peter Mawby, a resident, persuaded them to take the challege. He also had his legs waxed by two of

the staff.

Another resident, Beryl Harper, said: “They both arrived in their t-shirts and tights topped by their bras, it was hilarious, the village street was full of residents and they raised over £200..

“This will go with the rest of the money we are raising here at the villaage as we want to enter Northampton in Bloom again next year and try and repeat the Gold and Champion of Champions we won this year,” she said.
