A ‘pot o’ gold’ coin will be hidden in O’Neill’s pub in Northampton today to reward customers celebrating St Patrick’s Day.
Managers of the Irish-themed pub, in The Drapery, will hide a coin together with a prize of £250 in cash.
Historically, O’Neill’s say it enjoys double its busiest night’s footfall in just one day during the annual St Patrick’s Day festivities.
A spokesman for O’Neill’s in Northampton, which is open from 9am today until 2am, said: “Every year we see more people through our doors on St Patrick’s Day than on any other day in the year.
“It seems everyone becomes an adopted Irishman or woman on St Patrick’s Day.
“One of our customer’s is definitely going to enjoy the luck of the Irish.”
